Problem: Discriminant and Nature of Roots x^2-5x+3=0 [ Calculator, Method and examples ]

Solution:
Your problem `->` Discriminant and Nature of Roots x^2-5x+3=0

`x^2-5x+3=0`

`=>x^2-5x+3 = 0`

Comparing the given equation with the standard quadratic equation `ax^2+bx+c=0,`

we get, `a=1, b=-5, c=3.`

`:. Delta=b^2-4ac`

`=(-5)^2-4 (1) (3)`

`=25-12`

`=13`

Here, `Delta > 0` but not a perfect square.

Hence, the roots of the equation are distinct and irrational.
