If the compound interest on a certain sum for 3 years at 10 % per annum be Rs 331, what would be the simple interest ?

Solution:
Your problem `->` If the compound interest on a certain sum for 3 years at 10 % per annum be Rs 331, what would be the simple interest ?

Here `R = 10 %, N = 3` years, `CI = 331`

`CI = P (1 + R/100)^N - P`

`= P ( 1 + 10 / 100 ) ^ 3 - P`

`= P ( 110 / 100 ) ^ 3 - P`

`= P (( 110 / 100 ) ^ 3 - 1)`

`= 0.33 P`

Now `CI = 331`

`=> 0.33 P = 331`

`=> P = 1000`

Now, `SI = (P*R*N)/100 = (1000 * 10 * 3) / 100 = 300`.
