17. Terminating Decimal example ( Enter your problem )

1. Example-1

1. Find Terminating Decimal of `337/125`

Solution:
`337/125=(337)/(5 xx 5 xx 5)`

`=(337)/(5^3)`

The denominator is of the form `2^mxx5^n`

Hence, the decimal expansion of `337/125` is terminating
2. Find Terminating Decimal of `11/1250`

Solution:
`11/1250=(11)/(2 xx 5 xx 5 xx 5 xx 5)`

`=(11)/(2 xx 5^4)`

The denominator is of the form `2^mxx5^n`

Hence, the decimal expansion of `11/1250` is terminating
3. Find Terminating Decimal of `12/35`

Solution:
`12/35=(2 xx 2 xx 3)/(5 xx 7)`

`=(2^2 xx 3)/(5 xx 7)`

Since the denominator is not of the form `2^mxx5^n`, and it also has 7 as its factor.

The decimal expansion of `12/35` is non-terminating
4. Find Terminating Decimal of `42/35`

Solution:
`42/35=(2 xx 3 xx 7)/(5 xx 7)`

`=(2 xx 3 xx cancel{(7)})/(5 xx cancel{(7)})`

`=(2 xx 3)/(5)`

The denominator is of the form `2^mxx5^n`

Hence, the decimal expansion of `42/35` is terminating
