1. Definition & Examples

1. is Symmetric Matrix ?
`[[1,2,3],[2,5,6],[3,6,9]]`

Solution:
A square matrix `A=[a_(ij)]` is said to be a symmetric if `A = A^T` i.e. `a_(ij) = a_(ji)` for all i,j.

`A` =
`1``2``3`
`2``5``6`
`3``6``9`

`A^T` =
`1``2``3`
`2``5``6`
`3``6``9`
T
 =
`1``2``3`
`2``5``6`
`3``6``9`

Here, `A` and `A^T` are equal, so `A` is a symmetric matrix

2. is Symmetric Matrix ?
`[[1,3,3],[2,5,6],[3,6,9]]`

Solution:
A square matrix `A=[a_(ij)]` is said to be a symmetric if `A = A^T` i.e. `a_(ij) = a_(ji)` for all i,j.

`A` =
`1``3``3`
`2``5``6`
`3``6``9`

`A^T` =
`1``3``3`
`2``5``6`
`3``6``9`
T
 =
`1``2``3`
`3``5``6`
`3``6``9`

Here, `A` and `A^T` are not equal, so `A` is not a symmetric matrix
